Gallery — Meet the Reindeer – Past Event
On Saturday 13th December, Culver Square was full of festive cheer as families came along to meet Santa’s reindeer between 10am and 2pm.
This family-friendly event was free to attend and:
- Snap a festive photo
- Learn fascinating facts about the reindeer
- Donate for some reindeer food and have a go at feeding them
We’re delighted to share that almost £600 was raised for Colchester Foodbank, helping support local families this Christmas.
Reindeer Wellbeing:
- The reindeer are cared for to the highest welfare standards.
- They have access to large open spaces to roam, shelters to protect them from adverse weather, and a balanced diet of lichen, grass, straw, and specially formulated pellets.
- All veterinary checks, vaccinations, and treatments are up to date.
- Born and raised around humans, the reindeer are calm, comfortable, and enjoy gentle interaction.
- They are part of European breeding programmes that help conserve the species, which is currently listed as “Vulnerable” by the WWF.
- This event is a safe and enjoyable opportunity to meet these remarkable animals while supporting their well-being and conservation.
Thank you for coming along!
