Colchester Morris celebrates 100 years in 2026 with a special Day of Dance taking place across Colchester city centre on Saturday 27th June.

Founded in 1926, the side is marking its centenary with a large-scale celebration featuring visiting Morris groups from across the country. More than 150 dancers and musicians will take part in performances throughout the day, showcasing one of England’s oldest traditional folk arts.

Culver Square is proud to be one of the performance locations, hosting live Morris dancing at 10am–10.45am and 11am–11.45am.

The wider celebration will see performances taking place across Colchester, including St Nicholas Square, Firstsite, the Mercury Theatre and Colchester Castle, before concluding with a massed finale at Castle Park Bandstand at 4pm.

All performances are free to attend, offering a unique opportunity to see multiple Morris sides perform across the city on this historic occasion.
