Events — Pop Up Wellbeing Hub

A two day Wellbeing Hub will be opening its doors in here in Culver Square on Thursday 26th to Friday 27th September 2019 (9:00am – 4:00pm).

The Wellbeing Hub will be just off Shewell walk in the centre of Culver Square next to Clarks and has been organised by Health in Mind (North East Essex IAPT) in partnership with Culver Square Shopping Centre.

The Wellbeing Hub will be a hive of activity across the two days providing residents with health and wellbeing information during free 30 minute taster sessions taking place at 10:00am, 12:15pm and 2:00pm. A variety of taster sessions will be running throughout the event including; mindfulness, ‘Funny Half Hour’, stress management and exercise for a healthy body, healthy mind. There is no need to book just pop along and join in!

In addition to a programme of taster sessions the Wellbeing Hub will have activities for everyone to learn from, try out and sign up to. Local providers will also be on hand to share information at an interactive marketplace.

Thursday 26th September 2019

10:00am Funny Half Hour by Provide – 30 minutes
Enjoy the benefits of laughter; connect, have fun, destress, unwind and improve your creativity! No special clothing required, but you will be working without shoes, don’t forget your socks … the brighter the better!
12:15pm Mindfulness by Health in Mind (North East Essex IAPT) – 30 minutes
An introduction to mindfulness, what mindfulness is, where it comes from, and its application in modern day health care.
2:00pm Healthy Body Healthy Mind by Leisure World Colchester and Health in Mind – 30 minutes
Did you know that regular activity can relieve stress, improve sleep quality and boost our general mood?  This taster session will give an introduction to exercise for wellbeing.

Friday 27th September 2019

10:00am Wellbeing for Carers by Health in Mind (North East Essex IAPT) – 30 minutes
We understand that caring for someone can often be demanding. Join us for a brief overview of techniques to help improve wellbeing for carers including managing stress and worry.
12:15pm Stress Management  by Health in Mind (North Essex IAPT) – 30 minutes
Stressful day? This taster session will promote positive wellbeing and teach strategies for managing stress. A perfect way to spend your lunch break!
2:00pm Social Isolation and Loneliness by United in Kind – 30 minutes
Enabling and encouraging small acts of kindness to help reduce social isolation and loneliness. United in Kind Coaches are available to connect people and organisations, support new initiatives as well as existing ones that want to grow to be more inclusive.
